"I like doing what I am doing here at The Crown.

Cooking and serving the kind of food I like to eat"

"whatever makes me laugh and whatever makes me happy

is what you'll find on the menu"

We love Autumn and Winter:

Closed Monday & Tuesday

Our house offers Lunch from 12.30pm till 2pm

on Thursday to Sunday.

We open for dinner Wednesday to Saturday
6.30pm - onwards.

It's restaurant offers well sourced ingredients from France and some of the UK’s best independent food and Wine producers, ensuring a wholly English-French experience. A smart, casual and informative service directed by Dean awaits you. Deans journey to the Crown is remarkable one. Six years with the Waterside Inn, Bray. A year at Les Pres de Eugenie, in France. A year with Aubergine Restaurant and a number of years with the Hand and Flowers.

Food Awards and Reviews: In our first year we won a Michelin Bib Gourmand, we also have a respectable score in the Good Food Guide and entry in the (have to be in) Sawday's guide. While we are not conscious of guide approval, subconsciously it's great being understood!!!

We have no faith in Tripadvisor, we consider it the worst kind of review of its type and pay no attention to it at all!

Our Tiny bar: Please no pushchairs or Children under 12 as we are a tiny place. Children over 12 are fine in the dining room, but perhaps not in the bar area.

Also we only feel like doing child's portions of our really nice grub, so sorry you will not find a child’s menu! I hope you will continue to enjoy our earnest and intense passion for our House and its ways?

See you soon then?

Warmest regards

By the fire in The Crown - January 31st 2017

We’re taking stock and pondering all the gleeful things that have happened so far to our beautiful house..

We’ve gone from Michelin Bib Gourmand to Michelin Star in the Michelin

Guide GB&I, and have also been elevated from 3 to a 5 in the Good Food Guide.

At Lunch times to celebrate these fabulous endorsements a classic Platt du Jour

at a reasonable price is now on offer, Bouillabaise, Cassoulet, Sausages, Crepinettes etc.

Our a la carte changes daily, if your are vegetarian or other to save

disappointment can you let us know when booking, so that you will not be sad

when you get here, because the menu is meat and fish.

If you have your heart set on a dish that we have offered before do give us a buzz to see if we can

recreate it for you?

The kitchen is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays remember, to save disappointment at lunch please make a reservation.

Big love then and warmest regards

Winter - Kitchen Opening Times

Closed Monday & Tuesday

Our house offers Lunch from 12.30pm till 2pm

on Thursday to Sunday.

We open for dinner Wednesday to Saturday

We have seen a huge increase recently of customers failing to inform us of dietary requirement,

for your satisfaction you MUST inform us at the time of booking to ensure your needs are met.

Failure to do so will inevitably and sadly leave your choice of dishes from the menu extremely limited.

A vegetarian option is available with prior notice at the time of booking, because our menu consists of predominantly meat and fish.

Thank you. X

"Ghost Lovers"

The haunting apparition of a small bearded man with a pony has been sighted in the Bar, also the same chap without the pony seems to be pottering about a bit in the Cellars???
